WHEN DO I NEED TO TAKE MY CHILD TO AN ENDODONTIST?

Many parents are unsure when they should take their child to see an endodontist as opposed to a general dentist. Any of these scenarios are appropriate to schedule an appointment for your child at ELITE ENDODONTICS

After an Oral Injury: If your child plays a contact sport and their tooth gets cracked, or if they break or damage a tooth while playing or because of a slip and fall, an endodontist is the best choice. Endodontists can help restore and treat damaged teeth.

Traumatic dental injuries often occur as a result of an accident or sports injury. The majority of these injuries are minor - chipped teeth. It’s less common to dislodge tooth or have it knocked completely out but these injuries are more severe. Treatment depends on the type, location and severity of each injury. Regardless of the extent of the injury, your tooth requires immediate examination by a dentist or an endodontist. Sometimes, your neighboring teeth suffer an additional, unnoticed injury that can only be detected by a thorough dental exam.
